Site Lead
Overview:
The Site Lead collaborates with teammates to see successful completion of specialty structural timber and restoration projects.
They facilitate key communication between Project Managers and the Crews that execute the work. The Site Lead works with Project Managers to ensure the project is set-up for success going into production, and they plan, organize, and control projects on the ground. They have the managerial skills to actively support and supervise crew members and subcontractors as they work, completing quality inspections and problem solving to increase efficiency and quality.
The Site Lead must have the minimum competency of Journey Worker Carpenter, along with excellent communication skills and a kind spirit. You must love the craft and be interested in learning more, enjoy traveling to jobsites across the USA and Caribbean, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and use phone and email to check-in frequently when on the road. You will also work on site as a carpenter, and be required to hold an OSHA 30 card, and Class B CDL.
As a Key Team Collaborator, you will work closely with the PM team on the following for individual projects:
PROJECT LOGISTICS
Communicate, if necessary, with architects and engineers to clarify or problem solve
Oversee project from mobilization planning through project
Closeout/completion of punch list
Maintain the project construction schedule
Coordinate materials ordering and delivery schedules
Review project plans, methodology and site plan
Organize project kick-off meeting to prepare crew
Manage available work and crew deployment logistics
Manage sub-contractors, monitoring invoicing and controlling performance
Track and report project progress daily
PROJECT SUCCESS
Resolve problems; identify construction management system improvements
Meet project construction budget by collaborating with PM on monitoring
Project expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing solutions

SITE SAFETY
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and best practice procedures, complying with legal regulations. Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing codes. Maintain a substance free, safe, and inclusive work environment
LOVE THE CRAFT
Update team knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards. Participate in educational opportunities (both teaching and learning), reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, contribute to staff development by identifying training needs.
Requirements:
This position requires 100% travel and overnight stay
Journey Worker Carpenter or equivalent status
Five years of experience in a similar position in the construction industry
Leadership and organizational skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to use a computer and video
Compensation: 50k - 100k depending on experience
