Summary

The Project Development Coordinator is a key leadership position at Firmitas LLC, responsible for capturing and delivering accurate scopes of work that are efficient and reflect client/project needs. This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise in heavy timber framing, communication, and detail driven organizational skills.  The coordinator is a vital member of our sales and leadership teams. They work closely with our sales assistant, timber framing experts, and the drafting director to assimilate project information, and congruently define budgeted scopes of work that are refined and actionable.

Working Hours & Availability : This is a full-time, salaried position, requiring approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. While we value work-life balance and do not expect a regular pattern of extended hours, this role requires occasional flexibility to meet project deadlines.

  • Communication: We expect a professional and timely response to all inquiries during our core business hours (generally 7 AM - 7 PM CST). For example, aim to respond to internal team messages within an hour and to external partners within a few hours. 

  • Overtime: This position is exempt from overtime pay, and any additional time worked will be balanced with scheduling flexibility whenever possible.

  • Time + Project Tracking: We use Buildertrend for project time tracking, which is essential for accurate project management and reporting.

Technical Expertise: Possess a high level of technical expertise in all aspects of construction with a focus on heavy timber, timber framing, and restoration

  • Skilled and Comfortable in the following:

    • Group collaboration and management

    • Cloud-based programs/platforms

    • Takeoffs direct from dwgs/pdf 

    • Estimating and spreadsheets

    • Consistent documentation and organization 

    • Tracking, and analysis of drawings, data

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Compassionate, kind, and professional demeanor with a solutions-based attitude

  • Passion for learning and excellence, particularly in the unique field of timber framing

  • A minimum of 5-7 years in a leadership/management role

  • 10 years of total experience in a similar construction management or estimating position is required

  • A college degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred

  • Experience in timber framing and/or carpentry

  • Robust knowledge of timber construction and terminology

  • Demonstrated understanding of construction software like BuilderTrend and CAD, Dietrichs, Bluebeam

  • Proficient in reading and understanding DWGS and a foundational understanding of drafting

  • Comfortable and skilled with computers, shared platforms (G-Suite, BuilderTrend), and spreadsheets

  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week

  • Available if needed to be on call for some evenings and weekends

  • A reliable personal laptop is required for this role

  • Valid DL and passport for international travel

Compensation for this role includes a competitive base salary and eligibility for a performance-based bonus structure.  Our compensation package is regularly reviewed to ensure competitiveness. While a formal annual cost-of-living adjustment is not a current practice, we are committed to revisiting this policy as the company grows.
